Video & Picture

This is what the Ferranti Mark 1 (also known as the Manchester Electronic Computer or Manchester Ferranti) looked like. The Mark 1 was first made in 1951 by a man named Ferranti in the United Kingdom. The oldest recorded music was recorded on the Mark 1 by BBC towards the end of 1951. It played a medley of “God Save the King”, “Baa Baa Black Sheep”, and “In the Mood”.

This is the first touch screen computer. The first touch sensor was developed in 1971, but the first actual touch screen came in 1974. This was the first touch screen computer which was made around 1983. This touch screen was not the same touch screen that we see today. It had sensor beams that detected the movements of fingers, and had to be cleaned very frequently.

This is the iPad. The iPad was released on April 3, 2010. It has a multi-touch screen, including a virtual keyboard rather than a physical one. The iPad is probably the most advanced computer out there. It can shoot video, take pictures, play music, and much more. It is basically a miniaturized, touch screen laptop. Computers have come a long way since the Mark 1.

This is what the old computer monitors looked like. They were very different than the flatscreen monitors we have today. They were big and bulky and didn’t produce images of very high quality. They weren’t HD. The first HD monitors were released about the late 1990’s. The first computer monitor was invented in 1930 by Allen B. DuMont, and American inventor.

This video, Computer History in 90 Seconds, is about the history of computers. It shows a slide show of some of the many people to invent the computer. It also shows some of the different computers that they invented. Some of the things it shows are: the iPhone, the space shuttle, the Mars rover, some Apple products, and many more.
